Qianling Ye (Serlin) is a student from RMIT university (Bacholar of Design (Fashion) (Honours). This is her work called oven jacket. Using heat to manipulate the color of wool.

After continous experience, she nailed the best temperature and timing to change the color of the wool, as well as the method to advoid wool being burned.

The fabric was navy but it turned into brown after putting into the oven. By the end it turned out a brown color jacket, but surprisely the parts which underneath the  lapel, flap, collar and vent remained  the navy color, which like a track on the jacket.

PUZZLE HANGBAG

RMIT, MELBOURE, 2014

I want to make a functional bag which can be carried in different ways. It just like when you buy a bag but actually you buy two bags. I focus on the details like creating a patch pocket on the front and back that it’s convenient to get tiny stuff like student card. Becasue I notice that everyone was blocked in front the door, busy looking student card. Also, it’s easier to arrange stuffs with different sections. Thus I called it puzzle bag.

A stylish soft leather tote bag can be used in different ways. Asymmetrical design with patches and one patch pockets on the front and back respectively.  A zip on the front closes the exterior pocket, and rolled handles can be adaptable. Lined interior with 1 zip pocket and 2 patch pockets. Optional shoulder strap.
